I have been around the halls of St. Michael the Archangel school since the fall of 1975. So, I have also had the pleasure of seeing many former students become parents themselves and return to SMS with their own children. One of the last years in the classroom, I had the privilege of teaching a granddaughter of a former 6th grade student of mine. That student I taught in Leipsic, OH in 1974-75.
My own family consists of a son and two daughters as well as 8 grandchildren. We recently downsized to a condominium and love it. My husband, George, retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber about 10 years ago.
I was not ready to sit home nor grow old. In my eyes, the best way to avoid that was to continue teaching. Thus, I left the early childhood classrooms and came to be a small group instructor. I serve the students in K, 1st and 2nd grade. This begins my 44th year of teaching.
I believe that children are the greatest gift God has given us and I love to be around them. After all, they are our future hopes and dreams. It is a privilege to work with them and keep them hoping and dreaming.
